Last night I kept my regular Monday date on "Tucker Carlson Tonight". The subject was Earth Day, and New York mayor Bill de Blasio's abolition of the skyscraper. Click below to watch:
You can watch the full show with Tucker here. I certainly hope you enjoyed Earth Day as much as I did. As I mentioned to Tucker, my township in New Hampshire is 95 per cent forested, but you can never have too many trees, so on Earth Day I always like to plant a couple more, get the tree cover round here up to 97, 98 per cent, whatever it takes to send climate change into reverse. Of course, it's always a big pain in the neck the morning after Earth Day, when the holiday's over, and it's time to take down the trees. So these days I generally just plant artificial trees with the nice silvery tinselly branches, and then you can just take them down and put 'em in the attic till next year's Earth Day. Just a helpful ecological tip from yours truly.
If you prefer me in non-visual formats, as many do, I'll be back tomorrow, Wednesday afternoon, with a brand new Clubland Q&A, live around the planet at 4pm North American Eastern Time/8pm GMT - but do check local listings. And on Friday I'll be launching a brand new Tale for Our Time.
Just a month ago we officially announced the Second Annual Mark Steyn Club Cruise, following last year's sell-out maiden voyage. On September 4th, we'll be sailing from Vancouver through Alaska's Inside Passage to Juneau, Skagway, Glacier Bay and Ketchikan. Cabins are going spectacularly fast - and we're very nearly sold out. If your preferred accommodations are showing up online as unavailable, do call Cindy, our excellent cruise manager, and she might be able to pull a few strings: If you're dialing from beyond North America, it's +1 (770) 952-1959; if you're calling from Canada or the US, it's 1-800-707-1634. Or you can email your query here.
We have some special observances planned for the second anniversary of The Mark Steyn Club, so, if you've been thinking about signing up, you can find more details about the Club here - and, if you've a chum who'd enjoy our audio fiction, video poetry and much more, don't forget our special Gift Membership.
