I was delighted to return today to one of my very favorite - and, indeed, favourite - radio shows, The John Oakley Show on Toronto's AM640. John and I chewed over the latest assaults on freedom of speech, including the totalitarian imposition of these fifty-shades-of-gay gender pronouns. Jeff Bookman tweeted my takeaway:
You lose the argument or you win the argument, you don't ban the argument.
We also discussed the state of the US election, where I said I was impressed by Trump remaining just about competitive, given that the American right is currently a circular firing squad. Click below to listen:
~Speaking of "safe spaces", here comes the ultimate unsafe space. John was kind enough to mention the impending launch of The Mark Steyn Show - which, as you may deduce from the title, is not entirely unconnected to me. My old radio pal Dennis Miller is looking forward to it:
On the other hand, Bob Haze:
Steyn's a good guy. However, about an hour into Limbaugh when he's on, I have to turn away. His accent is "GRATING".
The good news, Bob, is that the show's only an hour long. So the Grate Factor may not have kicked in by the closing titles - although we'll be cutting it very fine. [UPDATE: Ross Feldman enthuses: "Make Steyn Grate Again."]
Incidentally, whether you're one of John Oakley's listeners in Toronto or you live south of the border or over in Europe or Down Under, my new show will be available nightly from pretty much anywhere on the planet - although we're not guaranteeing perfect reception if you're viewing on your fax machine in Somalia.
You can find out more about The Mark Steyn Show here. And don't miss the great Michelle Malkin's new show - available as part of the same package.
UPDATE: Reader (and prospective viewer?) Mary Lou McManus-Richter writes:
Could you explain how this works? is it through my computer or through my TV?
You can watch it on your TV, on your computer, on your tablet, on your phone, on your dishwasher (not all models). If your television is one of the new Samsung sets, it's apparently extra-super-easy. Wherever you are, whatever you've got, it'll work.
