On Thursday I returned to the Golden EIB Microphone to guest-host for Rush. You can find a few moments from the show here:
The Government of France has launched a 'terror app' that you can download to your phone so it will alert you when somebody in your vicinity is about to go Allahu akbar...
Of course, the big news is that Hillary Clinton is the first major-party nominee to identify as a woman. She's also the first major-party nominee to be under criminal investigation, but oddly she's not so eager to identify as that. So my guest halfway through the show today was Phelim McAleer, director of the forthcoming feature film on abortionist Kermit Gosnell and also of a recent play about Ferguson. His latest project is Clinton Emails on Film - which is exactly what it says. In the course of the Clinton server investigations, the depositions of Hillary aides like Cheryl Mills and Huma Abedin were captured on video. If you're wondering why you haven't seen the footage, well, as Phelim explains:
The depositions are being filmed, but Hillary's lawyers have managed to persuade the judge to block the release of the tapes in case they are used to make her look bad in the election!
This is amazing and unacceptable--that films, showing the truth are being blocked from the American people, especially in the run-up to an election...
But we have a way around this. George Orwell described journalism as "something somebody somewhere doesn't want published." So we are going to commit a series of acts of journalism.
So Phelim got hold of the transcripts, and has hired Hollywood actors to re-enact the interrogations of Clinton's courtiers. As he and I discussed on air, across the Atlantic the "staged transcript" is a genre unto itself on the West End stage - with recent hits including the Tony Blair Iraq investigation and the Bloody Sunday inquiry - and now Phelim's bringing the format to America. Here's a taster, with longtime Clinton aide Cheryl Mills:
This may be the closest we get to a filmed Hillary trial. You can help crowdfund Clinton Emails on Film here - and you'll be helping Phelim McAleer do the work you can guarantee most of the American media have no stomach for.
~While Phelim films the Hillary scandal, I confine myself to cat albums. If you're wondering what that CD was I happened to mention on air, that would be Feline Groovy: Songs for Swingin' Cats, dedicated to my own beloved cat Marvin. The album has a four-and-a-half star rating over at iTunes and a ton of five-star reviews at Amazon, including this one from J R:
Delightful!
The songs are well-chosen and the production is superb. If you like Mark Steyn and/or cats, this is the concept album for you. It's even better when you buy one as a gift for a liberal-leaning cat-loving friend.
If you buy only one feline concept album this year, make it Feline Groovy.
