Happy Valensteyn's Day to all our readers. For hopeless romantics, we have romance and Hope - and some musings from Steyn on the language of love. Mark is in Perth today for the launch of his nationwide tour of Australia. All dates are sold out except for a few remaining tickets for his debut appearance in the wilds of Cloncurry. If you'd like to grab one of the last seats at the Post Office Hotel, please click here. And, if you'd like to be put on the waiting list for Brisbane, Canberra, Sydney or the big gala beano in Melbourne, please email Rachel at the IPA here.
Meanwhile, in case you missed it, here's how the last seven days looked to Steyn:
The week began with Madeleine Albright promising eternal damnation in the fires of hell to women who don't support Hillary.
~On Monday Mark observed African-American History Month with a song by the nephew of Queen Ranavalona III of Madagascar.
~Tuesday was First-in-the-Nation Primary Day in New Hampshire. Donald Trump won big and so did Bernie Sanders, as Mark foresaw way back in July. Marco Rubio dispelled with the fiction that he knows what he's doing.
~On the morning after the night before, Steyn pondered one of the starkest numbers from the exit polls: two-thirds of GOP voters said they supported Trump's proposed ban on Muslim immigration.
~On Thursday a machete-wielding man called Mohamed slashed four diners in an Israeli-owned restaurant in Columbus, Ohio. As is traditional, police professed to be utterly baffled.
~On Friday Mark was interviewed by Sydney's Daily Telegraph on the strange discrepancy in birth rates between certain, er, culturally vibrant suburbs and those less so. Later he joined the former Guido Hatsis on the radio.
~At the weekend Mark was interviewed by The Australian on the death of free speech, the rise of identity politics and all the other fun stuff.
Steyn's new CD, Feline Groovy: Songs for Swingin' Cats, dedicated to his own beloved cat Marvin, has a four-and-a-half star rating over at iTunes and continues to rack up five-star reviews at Amazon. This one is to the point:
Awesome, funny, entertaining.
Feline Groovy: Songs for Swingin' Cats is available in good old-fashioned CD format. But, if you can't wait for the mailman, it can be yours in seconds via digital download from Amazon or iTunes.
A new week at SteynOnline begins tonight with an Aussie Song of the Week. On Monday Mark will be with new Deputy Prime Minister Barnaby Joyce among others on the ABC's Q&A. And, if you're minded to hit the Flinders Highway, don't forget to snag those last seats in Cloncurry.
