The fun starts Tuesday at 3pm in the Senate Russell Building and will be livestreamed here. Also present will be professors Christy, Curry and Happer, all of whom are quoted in Steyn's book "A Disgrace to the Profession": The World's Scientists on Michael E Mann, His Hockey Stick, and Their Damage to Science.

The week began with the official launch of Steyn's cat album, Feline Groovy: Songs for Swingin' Cats, dedicated to Mark's own beloved cat Marvin, who appears with him on the cover and inside the album. ~On Monday, Steyn reflected on one Parisienne's blunt observation after the recent slaughter - that it's no longer about "just the Jews". Paris itself has moved on to the global-warming jamboree, which Mark discussed on the radio in Canada with Andrew Lawton. There was more climate-change talk the following day north and south of the border - and later with Toronto's John Oakley, when Mark addressed Justin Trudeau's belief that we had much to learn from indigenous societies. ~Tuesday December 1st launched Frank Sinatra's centenary month. We marked the occasion with Part Two of an audio special featuring Steyn in conversation with longtime Sinatra conductor and pianist Vincent Falcone Jr. We also offered Mark's view of a handful of classic Sinatra tracks - "Try A Little Tenderness", "The Lady Is A Tramp", "Goody Goody", "Pick Yourself Up" and "Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down)"
~President Obama asserted that going ahead with the Paris climate wingding would be the most "powerful rebuke" to the terrorists. On Wednesday they rebuked him right back, murdering 14 Americans at a San Bernardino Christmas party. The reaction of the politico-media class was not impressive - and the passive evasive language of "radicalization" was even feebler, two days after Steyn had already noted the remorseless arithmetic of a Belgian "radicalization prevention" program.
~On Thursday Mark made an extended appearance on The Hugh Hewitt Show to talk cat songs and terrorism. On the latter subject, as he said to Hugh, "all the stories are different, and yet they're all the same".
~On Friday Steyn was interviewed by The Daily Caller about his forthcoming appearance before the US Senate.
~We like to lighten the gloom a little at weekends, so Mark launched a new audio series of conversations with legendary songwriters. In the first episode of The Song Is You, Mitchell Parish, lyricist of "Stardust", Betty Comden and Adolph Green, writers of "New York, New York", and Phil Springer, composer of "How Little We Know", tell Mark the stories behind some classic Sinatra songs. For our Saturday movie date, Steyn celebrated the centenary of a great screenwriter, Ernest Lehman, and his favorite train scene.
