On Monday Mark will be starting the week promoting his new book with Sean Hannity on Fox News. At the end of the week, he'll be in New Orleans with Charles Krauthammer, Peter Schiff, Doug Kass et al. Full details here.
Meanwhile, in case you missed it, here's how the last seven days looked to Steyn:
The week began with Mark considering a few items from the sacroiliac songbook.
~Monday saw the climax of the longest Canadian election campaign in a century: all eleven weeks of it. And by the end of the night Trudeaupia's brief Tory interregnum had come to an end, as Steyn discussed on the radio in Toronto with John Oakley. Click below to listen:
~Tuesday brought our most-read piece of the week, featuring Clock Boy, Niqab Girl, the Interpol Schoolyard Extremism Unit, and the need for way more strudel in Austria. On a related theme, Steyn marked the anniversary of the murder of Corporal Nathan Cirillo at the Canadian War Memorial by a "recent Muslim convert".
~Wednesday was "Back to the Future Day - but Mark wondered where the future went.
~Joe Biden ceased his will-he-won't-he routine, and decided that, for the moment, he won't. That put a spring in Hillary Clinton's pantsuited gait for Thursday's Congressional hearings into Benghazi, but the revelations were nevertheless, to those prepared to listen, devastating and appalling. As Mark told Hugh Hewitt, she vomited forth a sewer of lies.
~On Friday Steyn told the convoluted tale of a song Sinatra loathed, but Jack Jones, Jimi Hendrix and Saddam Hussein all loved.
~In his weekend column Mark considered the remorselessly shrinking campaign of Jeb Bush. For our Saturday night out, he mourned the passing of the man who gave Roger Moore's 007 all his best lines.
2015 is the 800th anniversary of Magna Carta, and Steyn is proud to join John Roskam and Chris Berg in a new book saluting one of the great founding documents of individual liberty.
As the Paris climate conference draws nearer, there's never been a better time to read "A Disgrace to the Profession": The World's Scientists - in their Own Words - on Michael E Mann, his Hockey Stick, and their Damage to Science: Volume One. Mark's latest book is available in print, but it can also be yours instantly via Kindle and Nook. We enjoyed this review from the Heartland Institute's Jay Lehr, PhD:
Mann sued author and talk show host Mark Steyn for describing Mann as a fraud in 2012. The suit alleges Steyn is guilty of defamation for attacking Mann's questionable and infamous scientific findings. Steyn is enjoying defending himself with the truth, and in this book he has assembled more than 100 scientists to support his position.
The book, perfectly titled, is a wonderfully easy read.
A new week at SteynOnline begins tonight with our Song of the Week. If you're in the general vicinity of Louisiana, Mark hopes to see you with Charles Krauthammer & Co this weekend.
~There are other ways to support Mark's side in the upcoming Mann vs Steyn trial of the century, if you're so inclined:
1) STEYNONLINE GIFT CERTIFICATES
You can buy a gift certificate starting at $25 (and soaring way up from there), for yourself or your friends and family. The gift certificates have no expiration date, so if, in ten years' time, your favorite nephew has a sudden burning desire for $100 worth of Mark's disco CD, it'll still be valid. On the other hand, if you want to buy a certificate and sit on it until Mark wins the case, that works, too.
The gift certificates are available online here. Alternatively, US and Canadian customers can make a telephone purchase by calling (866) 799-4500 toll free from 8am to 3pm Eastern time on weekdays.
Aside from "A Disgrace To The Profession", he's written lots of other books, on free speech and much more. They're available individually or as part of various special offers.
3) EXCLUSIVE STEYN vs THE STICK TRIAL MERCHANDISE
Our "Steyn vs the Stick" and "Clash of Sticks" designs are available both on mousepads and coffee mugs and as T-shirts and sweat shirts.
