Mark is in Copenhagen this weekend for the tenth anniversary of the Mohammed cartoons. For our Danish readers, here's a report on his appearance at Christiansborg Castle from the paper that originally published those cartoons, Jyllands-Posten - and here's another one for our Norwegian readers. Oh, and finally, one for our English readers.
Meanwhile, in case you missed it, here's how the last seven days looked to Steyn:
This week saw the arrival of Autumn and Mark celebrated with the great song on the subject.
~On Monday Scott Walker became the latest governor to depart the US presidential race. Steyn suggested his problems were largely of his own making. Other than that, the big development on the election front were the inaugural balls.
~On Tuesday Mark joined Sean Hannity on Fox News to discuss the latest kerfuffle over whether a Muslim could - or should - be President of the United States. Click below to watch:
~Thanks to a Los Angeles court verdict, this week saw the arrival of a brand new out-of-copyright song: "Happy Birthday To You" On Wednesday Mark told its musically simple but legally tortuous story since 1893.
~On Thursday Steyn addressed the big story of the moment: the tide of so-called "refugees" swamping Europe, and Chancellor Merkel's bizarre decision to sign Germany up for societal suicide in order to welcome them. It was our most-read piece this week: "The Emperor's Moral Narcissism."
~On Friday our Sinatra centenary observances continued with a late Cole Porter classic, "It's All Right With Me".
~With Mark in Denmark for the anniversary of the cartoon crisis, our Saturday movie date considered an earlier controversy over a supposed depiction of Mohammed, involving Anthony Quinn.
Also at the weekend, Conrad Black brought readers up to date on the state of the Mann vs Steyn lawsuit and "discarded relic" Michael E Mann's attempt to drive a hybrid coach and horses through the First Amendment. Lord Black also put in a good word for Mark's books on the subject, "A Disgrace to the Profession": The World's Scientists - in their Own Words - on Michael E Mann, his Hockey Stick, and their Damage to Science: Volume One, and Climate Change: The Facts.
Thank you so much to our readers around the world for another great week for "A Disgrace to the Profession". It's doing boffo biz on the Climatology Hit Parade, and is generously discounted at Amazon. And, if you need it in the next 90 seconds, it can be yours anywhere on the planet via Kindle or Nook.
A new week at SteynOnline begins tonight with our Song of the Week.
~There are other ways to support Mark's side in the upcoming Mann vs Steyn trial of the century, if you're so inclined:
1) STEYNONLINE GIFT CERTIFICATES
You can buy a gift certificate starting at $25 (and soaring way up from there), for yourself or your friends and family. The gift certificates have no expiration date, so if, in ten years' time, your favorite nephew has a sudden burning desire for $100 worth of Mark's disco CD, it'll still be valid. On the other hand, if you want to buy a certificate and sit on it until Mark wins the case, that works, too.
The gift certificates are available online here. Alternatively, US and Canadian customers can make a telephone purchase by calling (866) 799-4500 toll free from 8am to 3pm Eastern time on weekdays.
Aside from "A Disgrace To The Profession", he's written lots of other books, on free speech and much more. They're available individually or as part of various special offers.
3) EXCLUSIVE STEYN vs THE STICK TRIAL MERCHANDISE
Our "Steyn vs the Stick" and "Clash of Sticks" designs are available both on mousepads and coffee mugs and as T-shirts and sweat shirts.
