Happy August to our readers around the world. Don't forget Steyn's new book - more details below.
Meanwhile, in case you missed it, here's how the last seven days looked to Mark:
The week began with an eminent climatologist claiming that global-warming deniers are bumping off the world's scentists one by one.
~On Monday Mark appeared with Sean Hannity on Fox News to discuss Planned Parenthood, the only billion-dollar conglomerate on the planet that makes a living out of delivering healthy babies and then cannibalizing them for parts.
~On Tuesday President Obama wrapped up his tour of Africa. Steyn pondered his highly selective gay outreach.
~Wednesday morning means Mark's regular date with Toronto's Number One morning man John Oakley. This time round they chewed over Donald Trump's rise to Republican frontrunner, and the fit of the vapors it's given the massed ranks of GOP consultants.
~On Thursday Steyn addressed the strangely unpersuasive conversions of Republican candidates on the subject of immigration.
~On Friday Mark contemplated the shallow, self-reflecting pool of contemporary culture, and saw something totalitarian and terrifying. On a lighter note, he later appeared with Neil Cavuto to discuss the Republican base's utter loathing of the GOP leadership and the Democrat base's total boredom by Hillary Clinton.
For our Saturday movie date, Steyn celebrated the 75th birthday of Bugs Bunny with a salute to Looney Tunes. Our Sinatra Century continued with a youthful and optimistic Sinatra song and an older and gloomier one.
To return to our first story, it's not strictly true that Steyn is bumping off all the world's climate scientists. Several of those he spared are his co-authors on Climate Change: The Facts, and many others are featured in his brand new book "A Disgrace To The Profession": The world's scientists on Michael E Mann, his hockey stick, and their damage to science - Volume One. Mark had all this trial material sitting around clogging up the rec room, and he figured he couldn't wait forever for Doctor Fraudpants to stop delaying the start of his deposition. So he put together a book, which will be out in print and eBook at all the usual outlets in about a month but for the moment is exclusively available right now, in paperback personally autographed by Mark, direct from SteynOnline. So be the first on your block with a signed copy. All profits go to support Mark's end of the upcoming trial of the century, so we hope you'll consider it as part of your summer beach reading.
A new week at SteynOnline begins tonight with our Song of the Week.
