To all our American readers, Happy Post-Independence Day, if that's the right expression. If you're in need of a few extra fireworks this weekend, don't miss Mark on C-SPAN's Book TV today Sunday at 7pm Eastern/4pm Pacific. He'll be talking about the new book Climate Change: The Facts as well as the Mann vs Steyn case.
Meanwhile, here's how the last seven days looked to Mark:
Following Steyn's suggestion that the clash of civilizations had dwindled down to the dar al Islam vs the dar al Gay, the week began with the exciting news that the latter now has its own flag.
~On Tuesday Mark reflected that, when it comes to big fat Greeks and weddings, he's seen it all before.
~Wednesday was Dominion Day in Mark's native land. He marked the occasion with some thoughts on an old nation's youthful obsession, and a quintessentially Canadian song: "I like New York in June - How About You?"
~This week Steyn was a guest on Bill Bennett's radio show, which on Thursday prompted what became Mark's most-read column of the week: "Going With The Flow."
~On Friday SteynOnline presented Mark's observations on Hillary Clinton's Libya problem.
Saturday was Independence Day, and Steyn offered a song for the season plus his take on a less glorious but very over-regulated Fourth. For our weekend movie date, he settled down for the inspirational tale of Apollo 13.
If you enjoyed Mark's C-SPAN appearance and want an update on Michael E Mann's lawsuit against him, please see here. The good news is that Climate Change: The Facts is back in stock at Amazon. You can also order the book, personally autographed, direct from the SteynOnline bookstore - and, if you need it in the next 90 seconds, it's out in eBook via Kindle, Nook at Barnes & Noble, or Kobo at Indigo-Chapters in Canada and around the world.
A new week at SteynOnline begins tonight with our Song of the Week.
