Er, no. It's now in its third year, and it hasn't gone anybody's way. That seems to be the point of a sclerotic "justice" system in which (all together now) the process is the punishment.
For latecomers to the party: I'm being sued for defamation by climate mullah Michael E Mann for calling his global-warming "hockey stick" fraudulent. Which it is, as I'm happy to demonstrate at trial - if the choked toilet of the DC court system ever succeeds in flushing Mann onto the witness stand. We're now in Year Three of the procedural folderol, and before it's done we may outrun Cats - which is yet another reason why courts can't settle science.
Nevertheless, if Mann and the Big Climate enforcers were to win, this would be the biggest setback for the First Amendment in half-a-century. ~If you want to make your Yuletide party go with a swing, my new CD Goldfinger is, according to Hugh Hewitt, "terrific" and "a lot of fun" - and his listeners appear to dig it, too. The set includes my rendition of "Cat Scratch Fever", which is very diffferent from Ted Nugent's hard-rockin' original, but Ted seems to like it ("Mark Steyn nails the soulfullness of my classic song!"). And Kathy Shaidle is trying to think of other rockers I can cover in what Ed Driscoll calls "swingin' Sinatra style". In the meantime, Goldfinger includes "Can't Take My Eyes Off You", "The Way You Look Tonight" (in French), "Slow Boat To China" and, of course, the title song (combined with the killer James Bond theme) - which has prompted Brian Gardiner to launch a new campaign:
Can it be a coincidence that this CD shows up in my mailbox the same day they announce the latest Bond movie, Smersh? His rendition of Goldfinger leads to an obvious choice to do the theme song for Smersh, and it's not to let Madonna ruin another Bond intro. No, never mind the Mark Steyn for Senate petition that was floating around a year or so back, it's time for a Mark Steyn for the Bond theme song movement.
I'm flattered, but I share the view of my friend Don Black (lyricist of "Diamonds Are Forever", "Thunderball", "The World Is Not Enough", etc) that Shirley Bassey should sing them all.

~We introduced a new plus-size eBook edition of Mark Steyn's Passing Parade this year. Of all the books I've written, it's one of my favorites, and I'm glad to find Douglas LeBlanc, associate editor of The Living Church, likes it, too:
I return often to Mark Steyn's Passing Parade: Obituaries and Appreciations (Stockade Books, 2006). Steyn, a busy pundit, writes obituaries on the side. His wide range includes Ray Charles, Katharine Graham, Evel Knievel, Eugene McCarthy, Arthur Miller, and Karol Wojtyła; this year's ebook adds a few fresher items. He mentions the dead's rough edges, sometimes roughly, but also with disarming humor.
The new expanded eBook is available from Amazon around the world and at all the other digital outlets. But, even taking a chisel to the Kindle, I haven't figured out a way to autograph eBooks, so, if you'd like a copy personally inscribed to the love of your life, the good old-fashioned print edition is the way to go.
