I had a great time guest-hosting for Rush today. The troubling Bergdahl deal and the utterly repugnant Rose Garden photo-op dominated the show. One young, confused loser trying to "find himself" in anti-Americanism seemed to me the extreme version of a more widespread problem:
This guy, Bergdahl, is like a lot of young men. He's got a big hole somewhere inside of him where his sense of identity once was. That's like a lot of young people today. If you've had to endure as many lousy, third rate graduation speeches as I've had to sit through in the last three days, you'll be aware that there are a lot of young Americans who feel the same way.
If you're lucky, when they fill the hole up with something to give meaning to their lives, it'll be climate change or transgendered bathrooms or some such. But, if you're unlucky, when these confused losers from John Walker Lindh to Bowe Bergdahl go out looking to "find themselves", they'll find the Taliban.
We also discussed climate change, a subject with which I am all too familiar right now, as well as the upside of bovine flatulence. For more highlights from the show, please click here.
