In case you missed it, here's the last seven days as seen by Mark:
~A week ago, he addressed the critical issue of ObamaCow, the Administration's new bovine flatulence regime. It seemed an appropriate start to the week. As did the news that the "smart money" in the Republican Party is on Jeb Bush.
~On Monday the IPCC issued its latest give-us-all-the-money-and-power-or-the-world-will-end report, which Mark nevertheless interpreted as further evidence that even the transnational climate alarmism industry is climbing off the hockey stick. We recommend climbing on the SteynOnline Liberty Stick instead.
~On Tuesday Mark rounded up some news of the jihad from home and abroad: a British sniper who killed six Taliban with a single bullet, and an FBI alert on an army recruit planning a "Fort Hood-style attack". The following day, in an apparently unrelated incident, there was a Fort Hood-style attack actually at Fort Hood.
~On Wednesday Steyn pondered the hostility to intellectual diversity manifested by "the landlords of social media". Just to prove his point, the following day the Tolerance Mafia had the head honcho of Mozilla whacked for refusing to eat gay crow.
~Thursday was the great Doris Day's 90th birthday. SteynOnline marked the occasion with Mark's conversation with the legendary singer and actress, and a celebration of her signature song.
~On the radio this week, on Friday Mark joined Rand Paul, Frank Sinatra Jr, and Dana Carvey for the seventh-anniversary edition of the Dennis Miller show, and on his weekly date with Hugh Hewitt he discussed the left's ever more explicit retreat from any commitment to free speech.
~Our most read post of the week featured the Union of Settled Scientists' threat to down tree-rings and strike, and also unveiled Steyn's response to Dr Mann's anti-SLAPP suit against Steyn for filing an anti-SLAPP suit against Mann. If that gives you a headache, imagine the toll it's taking on Mark: This is the first ever court filing in which he quotes Michelle Obama, favorably.
~Our Saturday movie date was a Marlon Brando festival, while Mark's weekend column looked at "liberal" "progressives"' descent into On The Waterfront enforcement tactics. In more Brando hommage, the Warmfather Michael Mann demanded Nate Silver kiss his tree ring.
A new week at SteynOnline begins tonight with our Song of the Week. Mark will be starting the week in court in Toronto for tomorrow's closing arguments in the Ezra Levant trial.
