~He started the week with a song that comes along once in a blue moon, and a new line of Steyn merchandising that only comes along when Mark gets sued by fraudulent Nobel Laureates who want to tie him up in the sclerotic hell of the DC Superior Court for the next half-decade.
~On Monday Mark returned to the Golden EIB Microphone to guest-host for Rush on America's Number One radio show, and compared the Senate's all-night "debate" on climate change to Kim Jong-Un's impressive 100 per cent election victory on a 100 per cent voter turnout. Returning to the theme in "Potemkin Parliament Pajama Party", Steyn also proposed nominating self-conferred Nobel Prize winner Michael E Mann for the brand new Mustafa Prize.
~On Tuesday the Ezra Levant defamation trial in Toronto adjourned until closing arguments on April 7th. The case is basically a miserable postscript to the three "human rights" suits the Canadian Islamic Congress Sock Puppets brought against Steyn and Maclean's magazine six years ago. Mark discussed a spectacular cross-examination misstep by the plaintiff's lawyer, and the plaintiff's bizarre position that, although he ruthlessly promoted himself as the plaintiff for the six months before the British Columbia trial, he was not in fact the plaintiff.
~Also on the Rush Limbaugh Show, Mark heard from a listener who was being audited by the IRS for her 2013 tax return - even though she has not yet filed it, and it's not due until April 15th. On Wednesday Steyn discussed the institutional corruption of the IRS in what became our most read post of the week, "The Lois Lerner Defense".
~On Thursday, with an eye to the forthcoming Mann vs Steyn trial of the century, Mark noted the not so subtle shift in the positioning of the climate debate. Saner scientists have no wish to nail their colors to the shabby mast of the hockey stick, the IPCC, Climategate and the rest of Mann's bag of tricks.
~On Friday Mark turned his attention to the big news of the week, the looming Euro-American cheese war.
~Steyn's weekend round-up looked at Islam and the rest of the us. He spent Saturday night in person at the Northeast Republican Leadership Conference in Nashua, New Hampshire; on TV with Ezra Levant in a one-hour free-speech special across Canada; and on the Internet with Liam Neeson, whose latest film prompted some thoughts from Mark on the death of the MacGuffin and his selection of Neeson's Michael Collins biopic as our pre-St Patrick's SteynOnline movie pick.
