Mark, did you happen to watch Tucker Carlson's take on the federal indictment of President Trump (Episode 3 on Twitter)? I recommend it highly, as I believe Tucker is spot on. It never ceases to amaze me how many American voters are so easily distracted by the ruling class that they completely miss the forest for the trees.
It is a sad indictment on the state of the media in the US that perhaps our two most honest, interesting, intelligent and insightful political and social commentators—namely, you and Tucker—are no longer front and center on any major network. All the best with your ongoing recovery. For those of us who are unable to make this summer's cruise, we need you around to do many more in the years to come. Take care of yourself.

Hello Mark, do the republicans not understand that eventually the power hungry crazy dems won't come after them?
It seems to me that many squishy republicans like the Romney s and McCains think as long as they play nice they won't ever have to deal with the nut jobs.
History shows us that those who want power become so paranoid that they eat everyone in sight even those who helped them take power.
Rush always tried to get it through to republicans that these people hate them no matter what they do.
Do you agree?

Dear Superhuman,
I don't know how you manage to do all you do Mark; I can barely keep up with all the shows you produce, never mind handling legal disputes and medical issues as well. I could never survive.
Another Superhuman is Trump - I don't know how he can run his business, survive all the attacks on his business, and a constant stream of vexatious litigation, and run for president!
The Left have a strategy to immobilise Trump like Gulliver, pinning him down with a myriad legal disputes and distractions, just as they did during his presidency, and it's not going to stop. Even if Trump manages to complete all his tasks, the strain on his health must be immense.
So I have a bizarre suggestion to counteract this Leftist strategy.
What if Trump ceded the nomination to Desantis, on the understanding that Desantis if elected President, would defer to Trump in certain key areas like the economy or foreign policy. Trump would then be able to concentrate on dealing with the piles of crap that the Democrat deep state throws at him, and it would also invalidate their whole raison d'etre for these one-sided attacks.
The biggest obstacle to doing this would be Trump's ego. But if your focus is to stop the Leftist madness, then some kind of grand strategy is required that unifies all our forces, and disorientates the enemy.
With best wishes and thanks for all you do,
Alan

As the only person that spends more time in the U.S. court system than Donald Trump, I was wondering if you had any advice for him? If his espionage trial is delayed as often as Steyn Vs. Mann, he could easily serve a four-year term as president before his first court appearance.
On the campaign trail many Republican candidates are stating their plans to rein in the FBI and the Department of Justice. Do you have any faith that if elected any of them will make these changes?

This past week at a middle school in Burlington Mass, the school set up a day to celebrate LGBT pride, encouraging kids to wear clothing with rainbows on it. In what might be the best thing to come out of Massachusetts since the battle of Lexington and Concord and the Boston crème pie, a bunch of students protested by wearing red, white, and blue and chanting "USA are my pronouns"
Is there maybe some hope for us after all? Or is it, as I fear, that western civilization is truly doomed? What say you?

The kids are all right at Marshall Simonds Middle School in Burlington, Massachusetts, an otherwise very liberal place. They have to deal with woke teachers employed by a woke school instructed by a woke school board all waterboarding them with rainbow towels day in and day out. And they'd had enough, so instead of wearing gay rainbow colors and accessories to school to celebrate groomers, they wore red, white, and blue and chanted that their pronoun is USA. It is always a surprise to see light shine in the darkness.

Salutations de la Belle Province! And a warm welcome to all of the new members who followed you from GB News. They will surely discover what we veterans have known since the beginning: that this is the best corner of the Internet for culture, commentary, and music.
Very sorry for all of your recent health issues and troubles with GB News and OfCom. This is now the second time that a media company has betrayed you. However, cool cats like yourself have 9 lives, so you have 7 left. Go Mark!
Sadly, I won't be able to join you on the Mark Steyn Cruise as I am planning a big move to the lovely Maritimes next year and need to save my pennies. It will no doubt be a wonderful time and I look forward to the broadcasts of the live shows.
My question (and if the esteemed Lord Black has any thoughts, I would love to hear them): Regarding the late 19th-century Canadian government's policy of removing First Nations children from their villages to "civilize" them in residential schools, given the involvement of religious orders in this tragic episode of Canadian history, I have a sneaking suspicion that the alternative would have been extermination of the First Nations people, who likely would have been perceived as inferior by some in government as well as among the populace. It's almost as if the religious orders were desperate to prove that they could be educated and were deserving of respect as fellow humans (witness the mistreatment of Ota Benga, or of the remains of Aborigines by museum curators).
I am not a historian and have no evidence, but was wondering what you thought of my premise.
Bon rétablissement, cher Monsieur Steyn, et à la prochaine,
Ellen

Mark, and fellow Club members, what are your thoughts on the much vaunted Ukrainians' counter offensive? It seems in the US, the war has all but disappeared from the news except for the clip of Lindsey Graham yuking it up with Zelensky about how killing Russians in the best money the US has ever spent. Meanwhile, from what news I can find, it seems the Ukes are "inching their way" while money is no object NATO military equipment is proving as vulnerable as the supposedly subpar Russian arms to land mines and artillery. What does this mean when and if the war escalates again and actual NATO troops enter the war?

So good to have you back this week, as you did not disappoint on 4 blockbuster episodes this week. Also, last week's guest host line up deserve commendations for their fine work. You're developing an astounding global news agency unrivaled in the industry and James Golden's recommendation of you becoming the next CEO of CNN would never sound absurd in sane times. Thus, the absurdity of our times is the subject of this note.
Common sense has become extreme. One should not fear speaking truths in public. The contemporary politics of labels brands us Conservative. This term has been branded in the mass media as vile and deplorable. Yet, one can't be intellectually honest and simultaneously support Ukraine and open borders or the plight of indigenous peoples and open borders. One person cannot have two heartbeats. Facial hair does not make anyone a man. Sexual intercourse is nothing to be proud of. What percentage of people are willing to eschew truth for their lives?
Watching Eva Vlaardingerbroek bite her tongue on your show is a stirring sight. You must represent the most liberal freedom of speech in all of the world. The Left can't win these arguments with their farce propaganda. I don't believe any westerners are true believers of their script provided by the Polit Bureau. They have created a clear litmus test for who will be acceptable in the New Society. When we win the arguments, we know that certain violence will be the Final Act. I'm frightened.
I've discovered the BBC performances of Shakespeare plays. This week I watched the Henriad. I can't help but mourn and pray for the souls of those died bloody deaths for the claims to the crown of a handful of entitled men and women. It's amazing how common people are compelled to prove their allegiances based on who wields power over them. Cousins, Uncles, Brothers, Nephews, Fathers and Sons are not safe from each other's ambitions. As civility falls away from public lives, local despotisms will again control our lives. This is something that Libertarianism never counts on. Happy Father's Day.
