What if Trump ceded the nomination to Desantis, on the understanding that Desantis if elected President, would defer to Trump in certain key areas like the economy or foreign policy. Trump would then be able to concentrate on dealing with the piles of crap that the Democrat deep state throws at him, and it would also invalidate their whole raison d'etre for these one-sided attacks.
The biggest obstacle to doing this would be Trump's ego. But if your focus is to stop the Leftist madness, then some kind of grand strategy is required that unifies all our forces, and disorientates the enemy.

My question (and if the esteemed Lord Black has any thoughts, I would love to hear them): Regarding the late 19th-century Canadian government's policy of removing First Nations children from their villages to "civilize" them in residential schools, given the involvement of religious orders in this tragic episode of Canadian history, I have a sneaking suspicion that the alternative would have been extermination of the First Nations people, who likely would have been perceived as inferior by some in government as well as among the populace. It's almost as if the religious orders were desperate to prove that they could be educated and were deserving of respect as fellow humans (witness the mistreatment of Ota Benga, or of the remains of Aborigines by museum curators).
I am not a historian and have no evidence, but was wondering what you thought of my premise.
