Programming note: Mark will be back for Tuesday's Steyn Show at 8pm BST - that's 3pm North American Eastern. Immediately afterwards, Mark and Mister Snerdley, James Golden, will be live on New York radio powerhouse 77 WABC at 4pm Eastern.
~Welcome to a brand new week of The Mark Steyn Show. Today's episode features the return of three of Mark's favourite guests, from across the globe, with different angles on the incipient one-world government:
First up is Australia's Jo Nova, who notes the climate fanatics' efforts to recruit to their cause the banking and insurance industries. It's unlikely to work out well for your pension plan.
Next up is UK paediatrician Ros Jones with a particularly tragic example of the victims of one-size-fits-all public health.
Finally Mark Steyn Cruisemate and former presidential candidate Michele Bachmann checks in to recuperate from a week in Geneva with the World Health Organisation - and its well-advanced plans to become the Health Ministry for the entire planet.
All that plus Mark's Mailbox. To watch the show, simply click above.
~As Mark mentioned on the air, he has a new book out, The Prisoner of Windsor., which is picking up a lot of five-star reviews around the planet. From the UK:
Mark Steyn's The Prisoner of Windsor is such an enjoyable read, you'll be laughing your socks off too!
And what a tale of our time it is. I can't rate this book highly enough, it's just bloody brilliant!
Thank you, sir. If you're willing to pay list price, you can get a personally autographed copy over at the SteynOnline Bookstore. But, if you can live without Mark's inscription, you may procure a handsome hardback at a lower price with cheaper shipping from Amazon. It's also at Amazon Canada, if not yet (for some mysterious reason) in print form at Indigo Canada, although they are selling it digitally.
Aside from buying his book, there are multiple ways of supporting Mark's important lawsuit against the censors of Ofcom in the English High Court, including:
a) signing up a friend for a Steyn Club Gift Membership;
b) buying a loved one a SteynOnline gift certificate; or
c) joining Mark, the aforementioned Michele Bachmann and many more special guests on this summer's Steyn Cruise.
Among the benefits of Mark Steyn Club membership is that you can enjoy The Mark Steyn Show in any medium you desire: video, audio or text. So, if you find Steyn and his guests more convivial in non-visual form, please log-in to our Audio and Transcript versions. To listen to the above show, simply click here.
~Notwithstanding Mark's one-step-forward-two-steps-back health, we had a busy weekend at SteynOnline, starting with Steyn back in the saddle for our Clubland Q&A. Rick McGinnis's Saturday movie date plumped for Kenneth More and Dana Wynter in Sink the Bismarck!, and on Sunday Tal Bachman continued to move the ball down the field. Steyn's Song of the Week remembered the now reviled Rolf Harris, and we closed out the weekend with a Memorial Day edition of The Mark Steyn Show.
If you were too busy spending the weekend wondering why none of your neighbors joins in with "Tie Me Kangaroo Down, Sport", we hope you'll want to check out one or three of the foregoing as a new week begins.
