Mark: keen to hear what you think about the fact Professor Sir David Spiegelhalter boasted that he was one of the people who formally complained to OFCOM about your show.
Also why do you think a so-called Conservative Government in the UK allowed so many Marxist academics (as well as Communist, Susan Michie) to dominate the SAGE committees which (surprise, surprise) pushed so hard for Marxist-tyep authoritarian measures duing covid.

Wonderful to see that your health is improving each week. And I am really enjoying the post-OfCom Code Mark Steyn Show!
As you have noted many times on the air, the legal system in American is sclerotic. How long do your barristers think the legal case against OfCom will last, assuming there are appeals? Are depositions expected in the suit?
Best regards,

Hi Mark,
We are experiencing the lethal suppression of risk in the West in the name of safety. Its not, at root, woke-thinking that is tearing up reality. The elites are in the grip of a long fermenting Western obsession with safety and mitigating risk in all aspects of life (biological, financial, political, cognitive, informational, identity, word and deed).Woke thinking is just one more method for inventing risk. Like a mother with Munchausen's by proxy, the regulatory state invents ways of keeping us as permanently in need of treatment and protection from risk. Mark, Ofcom is our thought-nurse protecting us from being put at risk by thoughts we shouldn't have. The result, when it comes to vaccines, is lethal!

With the end of lavish subsidies for electric vehicles in several countries, such as Germany and China, there appears to be a precipitous drop in EV sales. Some manufacturers, such as Ford and Tesla have tried to soften the blow by reducing prices, but forecasts of sales for this year appear to be bleak for EVs. This would, under normal circumstances, be a serious setback for our planned future Green Utopia. However, these are not normal times. I can only see two paths forward: either a complete totalitarian transformation of our transport sector, bottling us all into 15 minute cities; or we wake up when we bump into reality and retreat from this strange experiment in trying to put millions of golf carts on the Interstate. Which branch do you think we'll take, or is there a door number three?

Good Morning Mark,
Amongst all the enormous geopolitical shifts currently taking place, one of the biggest must be the emergence of Chairman Xi as the world's leading statesman, dealmaker, and peace negotiator! He has brought Saudi Arabia and Iran together, concluded a hugely successful economic summit with his 'dear friend' Vladimir Putin which included the emergence of the petro-yuan and now European leaders are going to Beijing to seek his help in Ukraine, the first to make the pilgrimage is the Spanish PM. More will follow. China has positioned itself (very shrewdly) as the only major power interested in peace and the only one capable of achieving it. Meanwhile, all the US does is continue to fund war (Syria next?), talk about arresting ex Presidents and try to ban TikTok! Your thoughts on all this please - Chairman Xi for the Nobel Peace Prize?

Mark....As always, best wishes. Kindly help me understand this kabuki theatre of bi-partisan animus against Tik-Tok. Is there any realism to this congressional fury? Is it a planned diversion from other matters? Does Big Tech want to "rub out" its competition? Or, is it simply an opportunity for committee members to grandstand and pretend that the U.S. is getting tough on China...or might get tough on China at some nebulous point in the unforeseeable future? (Do I detect the putrid stench of consultants and water-logged Chinese balloons?) I am much more concerned about the malicious influences of our Stasi-like surveillance state through its willing Big Tech accomplices than I am about a Chinese-born video platform. Consequently, I am suspicious as to the real motives behind all of this lofty outrage. (As an aside, one might find it sadly ironic that while our congressional members deride Tik-Tok, Federal Acquisition Regulation ("FAR") 25.202(a)(4), for decades, has provided an "exception" to the Buy America Act that, in essence, allows the U.S. Government to purchase IT software and equipment made in China.) What a caper!

Mark and fellow Club members, we came upon the twenty year anniversary of the invasion of Iraq recently and I noticed that an ugly bit of history is repeating itself. In the lead up to and during the Iraq War those pundits and government officials who pushed the preferred narrative were respectable and mainstream while the dissenting voices were conspiracy theorists and fringe, although the dissenters ultimately proved to be right. In the COVID lockdowns, it once again was those who pushed the preferred narrative that turned out to be wrong and the "kooks and the cranks" who turned out to be right, yet no matter how devastating the consequences of getting it wrong, those in power who made the wrong decisions remain in power and those who got it right are still marginalized. Anecdotally, I personally feel like I am still looked at strangely among my own peers even though time has proven that the lockdowns were useless and I said so at the time and I get the same from everyone I know who did take a stand. Have we gotten to the point where people would rather be with the group than with the truth?

I fully agree with you that Trump needs to surround himself with better people. People who say things he may not want to hear. People who may not like Trump personally but believe in Trumpism. Get rid of the Mark Levins and Hannitys. Thank goodness the Kirshners have removed themselves.
You mentioned Anne Coulter the other day. I hope Kellyanne comes back. What do you think of Steve Bannon? I think he's fearless (an indispensable quality for a Trump advisor), has always understood the Trumpist causes better than most and has remained loyal to the cause no matter how much nastiness Trump has thrown at him. I think you and Tucker would be great advisors as well. Who would you like Trump to add to his team?
Also, what do you think of Ukrainian war flip flopper, DeSantis? I think he's done for. There is no issue more important to me than to stop feeding the evil military industrial complex and I believe DeSantis is a good governor but is a typical establishment politician.
My prayers for your continued healing,
Rachel

Whenever you had your fellow Canadian as stand-in, I was always a little disappointed. I thought that may be because Andrew's political commentary and analysis was not as incisive or informative, but I listened very carefully and found that it was just as good! Then I realised that you added two other things. There is a musicality to your voice which makes even the most indigestible political 'food' even enjoyable. The second feature is the odd jokes you throw in. I sometimes replay these to myself in my head.
You made one joke about aliens looking down on earth and seeing the headline "Because of Cakegate, the UK will supply weapons to Ukraine for its war with Russia". At this point the alien throws his English dictionary in the bin, and abandons all desire to take control of the planet because it's infested by totally idiotic creatures that don't make any sense.
This was just a spur of the moment comment! Anyway, I want to say that you are a master entertainer. You could sit there and talk about nothing, and it would still be interesting. I noticed that you lost your mojo a bit after the two heart attacks, but am glad to say that it is coming back - good news for both you and all us viewers.
Sorry, I've been going on a bit, but if you have time as well, I've got a question which you may want to answer another time after checking it out. I'm not Vietnamese, but I discovered this Vietnamese cabaret/song event called 'Paris by Night' and in the end I love those events and that genre of Vietnamese song. A typical example would be Quang Le and Le Quyen singing Song Ca Bolero (search term). I just wondered what your expert Western sense would make of it?
