At what point do our best and brightest learn from their mistakes?

It's unbelievable the mess that has been created. Boris again? 70 million people and that's the best Britain has to offer? This isn't self governance but something else moving toward collapse or transition to a some other form of British societal 'order', a massive complete recorder of of Britain. I always viewed the UK as a civilized mostly thoughtful society. Not so much anymore. What comes after civilized society?

So the head of cabbage wins - poor Liz - bit of a bummer. Can you elaborate a bit on British Tory politics - and do inject your opinions. BoJo comes in with a mandate, shepherds Brexit (somewhat) but not much else. You say currently there is not much daylight between the Torys and the Kier Starmer Labour party, but in the next breath you opine if 'fishy' Rishi or Jeremy Hunt somehow get elected Primeminister there will be a mass exodus from the Tory party - ala Kim Campbell and the Progressive Conservative party of Canada era. Is there truly a dicotomous left and right wing within the conservative Tory party?

Dear Mark, it is great to be back to the club after a long, unplanned absence. Congratulations on your well deserved success at GB News. Your interview with the insufferable Alex De Koning from Just Stop Oil last week is still playing in my mind, and you deserve credit for withstanding him. He answered your questions with accusations and eschewed from engaging in a debate. Such sophistry should not be underestimated and it is very hard to unravel, especially in a live debate. The left is full of people like Mr De Koning who is trained to think in this way from primary school.
I would like to hear your thoughts on how the current culture results in the likes of Mr De Koning. You have written about how Rock'n Roll is marketed to tap the myth of "youth rebellion" for profiteering. In my view, this and many and other "modern" forms of art are manipulated to create a cleavage in our culture: on one side music, films, and stories for young, cool people vs. those for old (conservative) people, which leads to the fanaticism we see in the left. Do you think there is a "cultural vaccine" against such malady? More importantly, is there a way to win the culture without using the same tactics that have a strong hold on people's imaginations?
Thanks and bless you for all you do

Dear Mark,
You're a man of style but rarely asked style-related questions. Hope you don't mind my doing so. I'd be curious to get your thoughts on those soup-chucker Just Stop Oil activists. Specifically, media coverage of these radicals reveals a rogue's gallery of breathtaking slobbery.
Why do they all look newly released from a state-paid alcohol detox program? Or worse—like those cult members who believed eternity awaited them in a spaceship tailing the Hale-Bopp comet (minus the expensive trainers).
When Sunflowers vandal Phoebe Plummer posed the question 'is art worth more than life?' I had to ask myself: where does she rank a shower and a tube of Clearisil?
Is it shallow to point out that these activists dress in clothes seemingly plundered from a crate of Goodwill rejects air-dropped on an African village? All I see are faded mom jeans crudely cut off at the ankles and stained, tattered, ill-fitting T-shirts. Even the white lab coats on those Volkswagen protestors glued to the VW factory floor look ill-fitting and cheap.
And the hair! Is there a rule book requiring all styling be self-administered, including the worse-for-wear magenta dye jobs? Also, why so many scraggly man-buns?
I like second-hand and vintage as much as the next guy. But the allure of vintage was always about bygone quality of manufacturing. This is different. This is—I don't know what to call it?—"Chinese-sweatshop-over flow chic" comes to mind.
It wasn't always this way. I'm old enough to remember Jane Fonda's superb shag, boot-cut jeans and flowy batik tunic when she was busy sticking up for the Khmer Rouge. Murderous thugs though they were, 60s era Black Panthers always looked terrific in their turtle necks and berets.
What's going on here? Since the very fate of Gaia rests on their sagging, pimply shoulders, should I not feel a little concerned?
Best regards, Liz

I wonder if you could comment on the grass-roots level of fear in the US prior to the midterms. But looking at lawn signs, I'd estimate that 80 to 90% are for the Dems. Now there is no way that this is representative of the electorate. It's almost like painting lamb's blood on the door frame from Exodus. People aren't afraid of their neighbors, but they do seem to be scared of repercussions from government and even just some thuggish enforcers out there.

Lord Frost recently advocated a gradualist approach to policy change. How about this then: before you can withdraw from international agreements on accepting asylum seekers, the UK has to abrogate the European Human Rights Act. How does that sound for a plan?

Forgive me for being behind in catching up with your excellent GB News shows, but I have only just viewed the one of 13th October, featuring the not altogether satisfactory interview with Alex de Koning, the Stop-Oil-Now chap.
You might recall that I have been badgering you for quite some time to get the highly articulate, rational, knowledgeable energy-expert Alex Epstein on your show to discuss all the global-warmology stuff, ie to conclusively refute it – all of it.
(You are probably aware that he has recently published a cracking new book, "Fossil Future".)
Better still, however, would be if you would invite Mr de Koning back to debate with Mr Epstein, with yourself as neutral moderator (hard to be neutral I know!).
Mr Epstein always says he will debate anyone anywhere provided there is a decent-sized audience. Well your viewer figures on GB News are a lot better than decent-sized!
It would be a cracking discussion and open many minds to the anti-human reality of carbon-zero and all the rest of it. It might even affect Mr de Koning's own thinking (and glueing)!
With best wishes and keep up the great output,
