Dear Mark,

This is the 3rd or 4th straight year that I've noticed that the celebration of the MLK Day Holiday in the US is strangely and noticeably quiet, and barely discussed in any media. In an era when the Far Left fans the flames of racial strife so quickly, and racial differences are so loudly emphasized, you might think the holiday commemorating the leading black civil rights leader would make for a particularly rancorous weekend.
But instead I can't help but believe it's being deliberately ignored. My theory is that MLK's messages of equality that led the civil rights movement, having been achieved, have been completely abandoned for the next step toward 'equity' - and with it the institutionalization of racial preferences til the end. At this point, I think MLK is an inconvenience for the Far Left in that the MLK 'equality' messages Americans were taught the past 40 or so years are now out of date for them.
Is there an opportunity here for conservative-thinking people to arrest the Far Left 'equity' movement by loudly and proudly emphasizing, celebrating, and eventually defending MLK's messages of equality? We'd have to move fast, before the Far Left notices and has Biden change today to Equity Day, or Black Lives Matter Day, which would be my response if I were Them.

These vaccines clearly do not work when something like half the cases are "breakthrough," i.e. a positive case in a vaccinated person. Do you see a ramp for politicians, (specifically those on the left), to go, hey, we screwed up, go on with your life? How does this possibly end other than civil unrest?
One more quick one regarding that (other) ugly sporting incident in Oz: will I ever get to experience an England Ashes victory in Australia? I can't decide if the Biden administration has a coherent policy regarding Ukraine and Russia, or if they are setting the Republicans up to be the party of never-ending-war again before the 2022 elections? Now its MLK day and words like unity and equality have become the party's allegiance words of choice to ask you whose side you're on. Watching this and how Australia has become the glowing example of what they want us all to be, how can we ever hope to believe that we aren't just going to be content with having a fall guy for all our life's and government's problems and if we just go with the flow, they'll give us a doggie treat for being good? The day before, his meeting was rescheduled. Then, drug cartel violence came north across the border to a retail center where my teen daughter was shopping with friends. Gunfire, police, sirens and murder. Now the fourth - at the same little synagogue that once hosted my daughter and me on a Christian-Jewish exchange. It's only 5 miles from our former home, in a peaceful, nice neighborhood. The consequences of a borderless world are here.

Australia deported the world's best tennis player on the eve of the Australian Open because he might say something that opposes their lockdowns, Canada is outlawing churches from teaching against homosexuality, and even here in America, the private sector of big tech is suppressing speech in ways the Soviets would have thought too far. I've just read Midnight at Malabar House. I don't pretend that's a solution - it's just an interesting crime mystery. But, if the Muhammedans and Hindus killed two million in the population relocation, can we say that it would not have been ten million if India was left intact?
Even though Lord Mountbatten's error at Dieppe resulted in "only" 3,000 Canadian casualties, that might have been a bigger mistake than slicing up India, since it was an unforced error, depending on who you read, and India was a forced error, and maybe foreordained.
