It's been said no one predicted manned space exploration would be abandoned almost as soon as it began because essentially the public got bored with it. Today, are Americans simply getting bored with liberty, prosperity and super-power status?

In the 1942 movie "Sherlock Holmes and the Secret Weapon," Dr. Moriarty straps Holmes to an operating table, and begins to draw off his life's blood drop by drop, so he will be fully aware of his life inexorably slipping away. It seems like we the little people are undergoing a similar experience with respect to our individual freedoms, and our nation's sovereignty as well (i.e., speaking as an American). Holmes escapes, of course, but will we? It feels like one needs to be a hope drunkard these days in order to believe in anything. That said, do you think there's a realistic chance that election audits can gain sufficient traction to ultimately oust the fraudulent regime? Or, is the {{{DURHAM REPORT}}} the only thing we have to hang our hats on? Uh, just kidding. Never mind on that one.

After reading about Ollie Robinson's suspension from the England cricket team I was leafing through an old book and came across the puzzling phrase "sense of proportion". Have you any idea what that strange, archaic phrase means?

Hi Mark - love the Club! A special word of appreciation for newcomer Rick McGinnis, who had enormous shoes to fill but has proven to be joy to read and definitely a worthy successor to Kathy.
Last week, the big news on social media was that Ellie Kemper, a young actress and comedian, had won a pageant that was founded by confederate officers. She made a public apology despite the fact that she was a teenager at the time she won and the ball was integrated before she was born. Yesterday, a few of Hunter Biden's text messages were either released or leaked, and they showed Hunter repeatedly using a racial epithet toward his attorney. While this news cycle hasn't played itself out, if I were a betting man, I would guess that Hunter's use of the n-word won't be addressed by the White House or covered in traditional media. The double-standard is obvious, and I think the media's role in protecting the Democrats is fairly clear.
My question: why are Republicans so deferential, so willing to play the media's game of "heads-I-win, tails-you-lose" on issues of race? My theory, (and feel free to object), is that the folks who pull the levers of power on the left think all of us on the right are racist, and they're willing to eat their own up to those actually in power in order to prove their virtue. Why not push back when they say our nominee is going to put blacks "back in chains," or when they use racist terms? What good does it do to ignore the disastrous effects of Black Lives Matter and Critical Race Theory? Is it simply cowardice? Self-preservation? What is the point of being in public office if you are not willing to confront bad ideas publicly?
Thank you!

Hey, Mark. This past month we've come to learn that rather than being a debunked conspiracy theory, it's actually quite likely that COVID19 escaped from a lab located in the middle of a city of 11 million people.
What's really disturbing to me is the fact that we may well have been subsidizing it the whole time! According an article from the daily mail, the Pentagon and and USAID gave federal money to the Chinese to engage in "gain of function" research that makes viruses more contagious and dangerous, an idea whose risks outweigh its rewards that only "an expert" could think it to be a good idea.
When and where do these "experts" of ours and the entrenched governing class actually come through for the rest of us, or are we condemned to limp from one crises to another because our "best and brightest" may actually be addicted to crises?

Why do they accept the leftist view that people such as that are beyond the pale? Why do they continue to allow the left to dictate who and what is acceptable? I know it's because they are cowards but as Thomas Sowell once said "In a battle between the cowards and the barbarians the barbarians will always win" and right now the barbarians are most definitely winning.

Personally I'm betting heavy on the Ahmari/Integralist side seeing as eventually God reasserts His prerogatives.
Not sure if that's happening before or after the end of the world but there is certainly a debate to be had for ordering our politics toward higher ends than GDP growth and "personal sexual expression."

Second - Do you think we are hearing about all the ransomware attacks that are happening. I know of a university that was ransomed on the same day as the pipeline. It may have made their local news, but I did not see any mention of it on the national news.

I was "hopin and prayin" for my fav-Mel Torme...but the finale with Nat Cole's version unbelievable instrumental opening (and the lyricist's favorite) could easily have brought tears to one's eyes. Secondly-have you ever considered a one on one video discussion with Victor Davis Hanson? Now that would be a blockbuster as well.

Men running in women's track meets? How hard is it to stand against this? Jan. 6th was an armed insurrection? What arms, what insurrection? I could go on (Durham, Fauci, face masks outdoors, etc..) The point is that you have to be incredibly stupid to acquiesce to such nonsense, and yet the willingness to turn the other cheek and carry on is the hallmark of the "conservative" opposition. Stupid is as stupid does.

Canada's next government may have to do something unprecedented ....
As a recent CTV article points out, although it doesn't quite put it that way, our low-IQ ethically-challenged Jolson impersonator may have got us into serious trouble on an international level by proclaiming that Canada is guilty of genocide.
Germany has always been able to claim that its present government has nothing to do with its two C XX genocides.
Canada, however, has been continuously run by the same parties as it was during the alleged genocide,* which, without the equivalent of a French/Russian/Haitian Revolution, makes the position of ANY current Canadian government .... interesting if this gets any further.
We might be in real trouble: there are far too many chancer lawyers in this country who would be all too happy to argue the case against Canada at the UN.
Certain sinister characters would probably be all too happy to finance such an initiative ....
One way out would be for a successor government (is Erin O'Toole up to it? I fear not ...) to formally, officially, on its first day office declare Justin a complete twit [or some such terminology], and every single one of his pronouncements of no force, listing them, and including the acknowledgement of genocide at the top of the list.
But imagine that actually happening ... we're [insert opprobrious epithet].
*apparently six new residential schools were opened when Justin's father was PM.... also interesting ...
