Programming note: This is Reimpeachment Week in Washington, and all week long, as America's first Reimpeachment Trial grinds on, Mark will be on air every evening for a round-up of the day's developments in the Senate and around the world. The fun starts at 7pm Eastern tonight, and continues all the way until Friday night. We hope you'll dial him up if you are in the general vicinity of the receiving apparatus.
~It was a busy weekend at SteynOnline, beginning with a full hour of Mark guest-hosting on the Friday night edition of Tucker Carlson Tonight. If you missed it, here's a brief moment with Colion Noir on Sheila Jackson-Lee's plans for "psychological evaluation" of gun purchasers:
The weekend edition of The Mark Steyn Show considered conservatism on hold around the globe, and pondered the difference between rigging and "fortifying" the election. We also had a poem from Sir Walter Scott and a song from Cole Porter. Our Saturday movie date reprised Kathy Shaidle's unique take on The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp, and our Sunday song selection was the very last lyric Oscar Hammerstein II ever wrote. Mark's marquee presentation was the continuation of our latest Tale for Our Time - George Orwell's excessively timely tale Nineteen Eighty-Four: You can find Part Twenty-Seven here, Part Twenty-Eight here and Part Twenty-Nine here - or go straight for one big binge-listen.
If you were too busy streaking at the Super Bowl all weekend long, we hope you'll want to check out one or three of the foregoing as a new week begins.
Mark will be back right here after Fox News Primetime for the latest episode of Nineteen Eighty-Four, round about 9pm North American Eastern/2am Greenwich Mean Time.
Tales for Our Time is made with the support of members of The Mark Steyn Club. You can find more details about our Club here - and we also have a great gift membership.
