He is correct. Its a set up on the chance they win. I believe with all my heart he will win but dread what else they will try once election day is over. What is your prediction on how things will transpire?

Mark,
Thank you for continuing to remind listeners around the world of what is happening here in Melbourne and throughout Victoria. In my 40 years I never thought I would see what is happening to my great city- curfews (now dropped), 5km travel limits, mandated masks, 2 hours of exercise permitted a day, police with powers to issue fines and detain people at will, continued state of emergency/disaster, half our shopping centres closed, churches closed, etc.
At the centre of all this is our Premier Daniel Andrews, who is not only the worst leader in Australia's history, is now on par to achieving the status as one of Australia's worst human beings, with his continual cruel and unnecessary extension of these lockdowns, which are now three months in from an original six weeks. Andrews is an unabashed socialist, totally at the bidding of the Chinese Communist Party, who was actually about to sign Victoria over to China's Belt and Road Initiative before the Federal Government stepped in. What is worse is that at the moment he is facing increased scrutiny over mishandling our hotel quarantine program, where he utilised untrained security guards to maintain isolation of infected people, rather than the army, which drove the major second wave that Melbourne saw, leading to the death of over 800 people, mainly in aged care, much like what happened in New York. I have never despaired as much as I am now.
What I wanted to ask you Mark is why do you think so many people within a society accept this taking of our freedoms, and not see how bad a leader some like Daniel Andrews is? Unbelievably, even with his descent into dictatorship, his and his government's complete incompetence, his selling out to China, he still probably has the support of close to half the Victorian public, though recently I have seen more and more people in my day to day life fed up with him. Our media is practically useless in holding him to account, with the exception of only a couple of journalists, all from Murdoch publications. He has the usual Twits defending him on social media, but now more and more of us are calling them out, but we copped so much abuse for it. Why do you think it had to get this bad for all these people to see what we saw from the start, and why do you think they are so deferential to Government in spite of all the incompetence and tyranny?

Out here in Cali, the North and South parts of our state (LA&SF) are drug infested, lunatic, toilets. Our idiot Guv Newsome (crazy Nancy's nephew) just put out a protocol showing how to eat a meal by putting your mask on between bites. Do you foresee some parts of the country not ever being able to recover from the carnage caused by the Chinese flu and insane leftist leadership?
Best regards and hope your ribs are OK.

Question for Mark's Q & A:
You regularly explain the need for conservatives, religious and traditionally minded people to engage in shaping the culture of society, or at least to contribute to a competing sub-culture, in order to achieve better results in both society at large and political policy.
I agree, but as a group we are not very good at going head-to-head with Disney, Universal Music Group or the AP. Our Christian movies are earnest, but will never have the same production values, and generally suffer from stilted and formulaic writing. Like the Jews in previous generations, we are being chased out of or locked out of entire segments of media, government, commercial and fine arts, academia and even science and business. Credentialing is impossible or at least arduous to navigate for anyone coming up now, and we have a generation of conservative instructors being denied tenure. Most of my friends who have conservative values and liberal arts degrees wind up working in IT, where we too provide for our families by helping to construct Sinistar (a malevolent video game leviathan who sucks up and devours everything in its path). In any event, playing the culture game on the enemy's terms seems like a chump's game. In your view, what does a cultural counter-revolution look like, and where do we start, other than our contributions to the Mark Steyn Club?

But the pandemic has also inflicted a coup de grace on what's left of free markets. No longer it seems does monetary policy restrain fiscal policy, they are in lockstep. Of course the Fed has interfered in Treasury markets for years, now they are purchasing junk bonds and junk ETFs. How long before they emulate their Japenese brethren and print currency to purchase common stocks?
Where will this road lead in your view?

Why I ask. As a Brit, Bill Clinton wasn't that bad or George 'W'. Too many wars with them maybe. Obama was tragic and I heard he was involved in 7 conflicts. But Biden and Kamala are just pure bonkers and China stooges. Biden will also take the EU over the UK. The EU hates the USA and always have until they need something like soldiers. That is the EU not Europeans and there is a big difference.

Dear Grand Mufti Mark,
During the last debate, Kamala Harris said that President Trump "has reigned over a recession that is being compared to the Great Depression." This officially means that the Democrats' COVID-19 position is no longer just a lie, but literally a joke. The "recession" is entirely the result of Democrat governors' lockdowns, lethal nursing home schemes, and a soft spot for racial street warfare and looting. But they're livid at Trump for not being a dictator, and not imposing a nationwide, Chinese-style welded-into-your-apartment lockdown where your door is guarded like the Berlin Wall (or Victoria, for that matter) — which would have caused a nationwide depression.
The glory days of Barack Obama are over. The Democrats no longer care about masterful, slick lying; Kamala and Uncle Joe are pathological liars who couldn't lie their ways out of an empty room. Do you think the Democrats now even care how incompetently they both govern and lie to you while they race to grab power?

Looking at the most recent polls by state, it seems Trump isn't faring well in the Midwest and I just heard there is a chance that Texas might go Blue this time, and it's touch-and-go in Arizona. Since the Democrats routinely propose outrageous remedies when things don't go their way, how about the Republican Party doing a bit of the same?
For instance, these Southwestern states, which have valuable electoral college votes up for grabs, were solidly Red but have morphing into a kind of purple because they have so many migrants from ultra-liberal states like California. They have fleeing California for decades now, escaping years of failed policies and burdensome regulations that have resulted in high taxes and cost of living, including home prices. The problem is, when the escapees move to their new state, they bring their liberal views with them, never connecting the cause and effect.
This is happening not only in TX and AZ, but in Nevada, Idaho, and Tennessee, which has been a haven for California refugees for well over a decade now. But this flight of clueless liberals has changed political landscape in these states. Long-time residents that can trace their state lineage back several generations are understandable angry.
I would like to see a federal law proposed by Republicans that limits or curtails their ability to vote as a resident of their new state for at least four years, or one presidential election cycle. They still can vote, no one is taking that right away, but it would be as a resident of their former state, and would be counted as such in a general election. Also, the newbies' ballots would not include propositions from their former state, this would be for only for office holders as you shouldn't be able to vote on tax and bond issues years after you have left a state. It might be complicated but it can't be any worse or more inconvenient than forcing many to vote by mail-in ballots this election.
A wild idea, maybe, but not any crazier than many Democrat proposals I've heard of late. There needs to be a way to protect deeply held values and beliefs of those who have fostered those through generations and not have them subject to an assault by out-of-staters who are too stupid or blind to admit to themselves the real reasons they have fled their state in search of a better life.
