On Friday I briefly emerged from my three-month bout of pneumonia/overheating/dehydration to guest-host for Rush on America's Number One radio show. You can find a few moments from the broadcast here. There was a lot of Hillary's health, including my observation that she could no longer seriously describe Trump as "unfit" for the presidency, when he's literally the last man standing. I also suggested that the notion that a Trump victory would mark "the end of conservatism" was being somewhat over-sold:
If Trump wins it's going to be what in other countries would be a coalition government. It's going to be a coalition between the Trump Party in the White House and the Republican Party in the House and Senate.
That could be a great opportunity for effective Congressional conservatives - if they're savvy enough to take it.
I also addressed Hillary's "basket of deplorables" and tied it in to the demonization of pro-Brexit Britons in the United Kingdom:
When you tell half the electorate that they're bigots, racists, sexists, homophobes, transphobes, Islamophobes (and don't worry, there'll be a new phobe along any minute) then something else sometimes happens. People go quiet or give dishonest answers to pollsters.
Which is why the Remainers were stunned by the Brexit vote - and why November may bring a similar surprise.
