On Wednesday I returned to the Golden EIB Microphone for another Rush guest-hosting stint on America's Number One radio show. You can find a few moments from the broadcast here. After Tuesday night, primary season is over, and as I said:
The big question is: What happens next?
I suggested that, when pundits pitch their scenarios for the months ahead, one should disregard those who got the last year entirely wrong. If I do say so myself, I think a certain Canadian's column from 11 months ago holds up pretty well - save for failing to factor in Bernie's lack of a killer instinct.
Some of his disillusioned disciples feel differently, however. The Associated Press has warned its reporters to beware of attacks from Sanders fans, leading me to an extended on-air riff on "When Snowflakes Attack".
One theme of the show was that, insanity-wise, Trump at his Trumpiest is far less nutty than the conventional wisdom from the most respected paragons of the establishment - for example, John Kerry's Utopian effusions to Northeastern University graduates about a "borderless world". As I commented:
This phrase - 'a borderless world' - is something that ought to strike terror into people. Life in a borderless world will be nasty, brutish and short.
As the show ended, news broke of a bloody terrorist attack in Israel. I'll be back on the radio to discuss that and the rest of the news live on Thursday. I hope you'll dial us up either on one of 600 radio stations across the US or via iHeartRadio livestream or your Rush 24/7 subscription.
~As for a certain cat album I happened to mention in the show's final moments, that would be Feline Groovy: Songs for Swingin' Cats. The CD has a four-and-a-half star rating over at iTunes and a ton of five-star reviews at Amazon, including this admirably straightforward one from David Vanmeter:
Excellent--No Problems--Thanks
If you buy only one feline concept album this year, make it Feline Groovy.
~If you dislike my singing voice, wait'll you hear my speaking voice: My book The [Un]documented Mark Steyn is out now in audio format - and narrated by yours truly! It's a Top Five bestseller on the political humor hit parade. Right now, it's available for download, but if you'd prefer it in good old-fashioned CD form that's coming soon and you can pre-order it right now.
